The Flour Mill of Summer Hill is a master-planned community with 360 apartments, terrace houses, retail and commercial space across 11 buildings bringing together a neighbourhood with a new heart to an old soul.

Our vision was to create an urban project that made the Flour Mill of Summer Hill a unique community by adaptively reusing its existing cultural and industrial heritage.

Designed by award-winning architects, HASSELL, this master-planned community involved collaboration with expert consultants hand picked for their expertise in complex heritage projects with an industrial overlay. Extensive consultation with the local community was vital in ensuring that the property development exceed community expectations.

Delivered over 5 distinct stages in conjunction with Daiwa House Australia and Cosmos Australia, the project spanned a multitude of planning and authority requirements to create a true master-planned Transit Orientated Development.

At the Flour Mill of Summer Hill, parkland, pedestrian areas and new internal streets seamlessly connect the apartments and terrace homes with their wider environment. In developing unique public spaces, such as Mungo Scott Plaza and Harvest Park, we found a better way for the wider community and the new residents to benefit – raising revenue generation by 20% and providing spaces for markets, festivals and the perfect weekend picnic.
